What do the EI30, EI60 and EI120 ratings mean?

The ratings refer to the fire resistance class of an element. The letter E stands for fire integrity and I for fire insulation. The number indicates the time in minutes during which – under test conditions – the element retains the specified properties, e.g. 30, 60 or 120 minutes.
